IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering an Tourism Corporation) is a sub division of Indian Railways that take care of tourism, catering and online ticketing operations.

Online Ticketing – You can book railway tickets through its website, or as well as from your mobile phones via SMS, WIFI or GPRS. IRCTC also offers I-tickets, its like your regular tickets except they are booked online and delivered by post

Tourism – IRCTC also provides budget and deluxe package tours for foreign and domestic tourists. For budget tourists, popular tourism packages covering important destinations across India is “Bharat Darshan”. Luxury packages are also available, it involves special trains such as Maharajas’ Express and Buddhist Circuit Train.

Tatkal Booking – In Tatkal Bookin, passengers who decided to plan their trip in short time can book their tickets in almost all Express / Mail trains via Indian railways internet portal. Booking time starts at 10 am daily for AC coach reservation and for NON-AC timing is residual to 11 am.
